Rainbow Elves Sauna

Yeoman Joinery’s first commissioned sauna employs a piece-en-piece method of log wall construction.

“Our Yeoman Joinery sauna is a work of art. It was a pleasure to work with Blaine Shultz from the design phase through to the completion of the project. Blaine talked to us about what we were looking for, and based the design on our needs and desires. He sought and listened to our input throughout the project. Blaine sourced the wood, hemlock and pine, from Barnard loggers and had the beams and boards milled at a local sawmill. He used a curved pine tree from our land to create a unique arch on the sauna’s front porch. He prepared the lumber offsite, doing all of the joinery work before he brought the pieces over to the sauna site. The sauna-raising day was an exciting event. It was like seeing a puzzle being put together, piece by piece. Everything fit exactly. All his cuts and grooves were perfect and the very solid and tight building went up in one day. He then did wonderful finish work, using some salvaged windows that we had found, and building other windows and comfortable benches for us. He added many beautiful, creative touches. After the project was completed, Blaine was responsive to any further needs we had. We feel honored to have the first sauna that Blaine ever built, and we recommend his work most highly.”
